AAP CM candidate Isudan Gadhvi to compete from Khambhalia headquarters


Aam Aadmi Party’s chief ministerial candidate in Gujarat, Isudan Gadhvi, will contest next month’s parliamentary elections from the Khambhalia headquarters in his home district of Devbhumi Dwarka, the party’s national official, Arvind Kejriwal, announced on Sunday.

Kejriwal made the announcement via a tweet.

“Isudan Gadhvi, who for years has been raising his voice for farmers, unemployed youths, women, businessmen, will stand for election in Jam Khambhalia! Gujarat will have a new and good Chief Minister of holy land of Lord Krishna,” the Delhi chief minister said. in the Hindi tweet.

In response, Gadhvi tweeted, “The faith you and the people of Gujarat have placed in me, I assure you that I will serve the people of Gujarat till my dying breath. Jai Jai Garvi Gujarat!”

Gadhvi, a former television journalist, was named the party’s CM candidate on November 4 based on the results of a poll conducted by the AAP. The chairman of the party’s Gujarat unit, Gopal Italia, and general secretary Majoj Sorathiya were also in the running.

Gadhvi, who comes from a farming family in Dwarka district, had won around 73% of the vote (in the CM face poll), leaving Italia and Sorathiya behind in the race.

With this, the AAP has so far announced the names of 175 candidates for the 182 Gujarat Assembly members.

Khambhalia will go to the polls with another 88 seats on December 1 in the first phase of Gujarat’s two-phase elections. For the first phase, the deadline for submitting application forms is 14 November and the deadline for withdrawing forms is 17 November.

The second phase of voting will take place on December 5 and the counting of votes will begin on December 8.
