Berks County Churches Celebrate All Saints Sunday

• St. John’s United Church of Christ (Hain’s), 591 N. Church Rd., Lower Heidelberg Township, will hold an All Saints’ Day service Sunday at 9:30 a.m., with Holy Communion and the dedication of a new table of remembrance. Everyone will be invited to light a candle in honor of deceased loved ones. The choir of the choir will offer the hymn “Draw Is In The Spirit’s Tether” by Harold Friedell.

• The Lutheran Church of Christ, 222 Niantic Road, Barto, will worship on All Saints Sunday at 9 am, with Holy Communion, remembering all the saints in the congregation and loved ones in the congregation. The confirmation course will take place at 10 a.m. in room I and the adult Sunday/Bible course will take place at 10 a.m. in the living room.

• The United Church of Christ in Robesonia will worship at 301 W. Penn Ave. at 10:15 a.m. on All Saints Sunday, with Holy Communion, through YouTube, in person, through Facebook and by phone. Those who have died in the past year will be honored. Candles will be lit for each person, the bell will ring and flowers will be presented to family members. The Bible study will take place on Tuesday mornings at 9 a.m. via Zoom and Wednesday evenings via Zoom and in person. Christmas sweets are made this week. Everyone is invited to help. • The Lutheran Church of the Reformation, 3670 Perkiomen Avenue, Exeter Township, will celebrate All Saints Sunday remembering those who have passed away this year by lighting candles and ringing bells during worship services in 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., both accompanied by Holy Communion. . The 10:30 a.m. service will be streamed live on Reformation’s Facebook page and can be viewed live or later on www.Reformationlutheran.org under worship videos. Sunday school for all ages starts at 9:30 am. The Ministry of Health team will offer blood pressure checks in the church library between services.

• St. John’s Gernant Church (a federated congregation), 13 Gernant Church Road, Ontelaunee Township, will worship on All Saints Sunday at 9:30 am at Memorial Hall, with Holy Communion. Candles will be lit in honor of the memories of members who passed away this year. Those who wish to honor the memory of other loved ones who died before this year are also invited to light a candle. The choir’s anthem will be “Hark, I Hear The Harps Eternal”. The service musician will be Shirley Breininger. A Bible study will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. A potato stuffer sale to raise funds will be held next Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. 2384 to pre-order.

• St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1 Front St. Plaza, Mohnton, is hosting a WELCA Thanksgiving Service on November 13 at 10 a.m. with Piercing Word, a theater performance group whose text is taken directly from the Bible scriptures . • Calvary United Church of Christ, 640 Center Ave., Reading, will remember saints on All Saints Sunday at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., with special music provided for the second service by music director Megan Charlesworth, the organist Dr. Steve Katzenmoyer, and the Reverend Steve Ohnsman, pastor.

• Grace Lutheran Church, 30 Liberty St., Shillington, will premiere a special choral hymn composed by high school student Patrick Skoniczin to celebrate All Saints Sunday during an in-person service at 9.30am, along with Holy Communion. • Friedens United Church of Christ, 337 Main St., Oley, will offer both in-person service and participation via Zoom and YouTube on All Saints’ Sunday at 10:15 a.m. Members who died during the previous year will be commemorated by lighting. a candle and the ringing of the church bell. The mission team will be holding a drive-thru today between 9am and 11am for the collection of canned goods, hygiene products and paper products to be brought to the Veterans Center for distribution. • Maranatha Baptist Church, 25 Gaul Road, Lower Heidelberg Township, will begin a Thanksgiving-themed series entitled “Doing Much of God” beginning Sunday at 10:45 am and continuing each Sunday in November. A new song that connects with the opening message will be introduced.

• Christ Episcopal Church, 435 Court Street, Reading, Christ Episcopal Church, 435 Court Street, Reading, presents a Vespers by David Cullen “Songs of Hope and Peace in troubling times”. • Zion Lutheran Church, 354 Zions Church Road, Perry Township, will celebrate All Saints Sunday at 10:30 am, including a time of remembrance. Sunday school for all ages starts at 9:15 a.m. Zion’s Women of the ELCA will be celebrating National Gratitude Mont” by collecting items for Mary’s Shelter to benefit their clients (homeless teens and pregnant women). Items will be collected until November 20. Zion’s WELCA will meet at the church Monday at 7 p.m.

• The United Reformed Church of Christ Bern, 3196 Bernville Road, Canton of Bern, will hold an in-person service on All Saints’ Sunday at 9:30 am, with Holy Communion. Deceased family members will be memorialized. You can also participate from your vehicle in the parking lot using an FM 87.9 transmission or on Facebook.

• Kissinger Church, 715 Berkshire Blvd., Wyomissing, will hold an hour of prayer Wednesday at 4 p.m. The public is invited to attend to submit prayer requests and pray for others.

• Maidencreek Church, 261 Main Street, Township of Maidencreek, will hold hybrid worship on All Saints Sunday at 9 am. The music includes two piano selections by Kimberly Ayrton; a trumpet solo by Jamie Ayrton; and the Senior Choir Anthem. The service is streamed live on Facebook and YouTube.
