Manila, Philippines – The Missionary Families of Christ (MFC) pledged their full support to the Buhay Party List during its World Couples Congress held recently at the Rizal Park Hotel in Manila.

It was the first face-to-face assembly of the MFC, considered the largest lay Catholic organization of missionary couples in the Philippines and spread around the world.

MFC Servant General Frank Padilla openly endorsed Buhay’s party slate due to the alignment of values and advocacy to be pro-God, pro-life and pro-family. Buhay’s third candidate, Xavy Padilla, is the son of Frank Padilla.

During the event, Buhay’s first candidate, Von Valdepeñas, traced his roots as a young missionary with Padilla’s Youth for Christ (now, MFC Youth), then became the youngest and number one counselor in Los Baños, and then chose to become a businessman and social entrepreneur.

Valdepeñas’ wife, Chi, who is the daughter of Vice President Lito Atienza, was with him on stage in solidarity with other MFC couples.

MFC missionary couples stood and held banners to show their support for the Buhay Party List, which was founded by staunch pro-lifer Vice President Lito Atienza.

In November 2021, at the same location, other Catholic secular organizations joined Buhay in forming a strong bloc of voters who espouse the sanctity of life and the importance of defending it.
