Bon Air Church of the Nazarene

Bon Air Church of the Nazarene hosts a coffee club at 9 a.m. every Monday. “No pressure, just camaraderie.” The coffee club meets at the church, 2419 N. Locke St., Kokomo. Participants must enter through the northeast door. Call 765-438-0225 for more information.

Poplar Grove United Methodist Church

On August 6, Poplar Grove United Methodist Church will celebrate 150 years of community service. Poplar Grove UMC is located at the corner of 500 North and 1150 West in Howard County.

There will be a meal starting at 4:30 p.m. followed by a service at 6:30 p.m. Anyone who has frequented Poplar Grove or lived in the area is invited to join in the celebration. Former pastor John Newman will speak.

First meeting of friends

Romans Bible Study will begin at 6:30 p.m. on July 28 at the First Friends Meeting, located at 1801 W. Zartman Road. The event will be led by Dr. Michael C. Carson, pastor of First Friends Meeting of Kokomo. Everyone is welcome. Bible study is held in the Fellowship Hall every Thursday evening until September 22. St. Joan of Arc and St. Patrick Catholic Churches

Anyone interested in learning more about the Catholic faith is invited to weekly information sessions at St. Joan of Arc and St. Patrick Catholic Churches. Mondays, sessions are held at St. Patrick’s Parish Hall, 1204 N. Armstrong St. Wednesdays, sessions are held on the ground floor patio at St. Joan of Arc, 3155 S. 200 West ( Dixon Road). Christ the King Anglican Church

Christ The King Anglican Church offers a ministry of prayer and pastoral conversation from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday mornings at Big Ben Coffee, 2130 W. Jefferson St., Kokomo. Fountain of Life Word & Worship Center

At 10:30 a.m., July 31, the Fountain of Life Word & Worship Center, 611 E. Jackson St., Kokomo will celebrate Benjamin David Hicks, who serves the church as a musician. Everyone is welcome to attend and show their appreciation.

At 10:30 a.m. on August 14, the church will celebrate the 78th birthday of its pastor, Bishop CE Glenn. The speaker will be evangelist Cheryl Simmons. Everyone is invited to come celebrate the man who has done so much for so many people in our city.

Second Missionary Baptist Church

This weekend, Back 2 School Sunday will be celebrated at Second Missionary Baptist Church, located at 818 N. Apperson Way, Kokomo. The faithful will pray for staff and students as they return to school in the service, which begins at 11 a.m.

Also on Sunday, there will be an Open House on Youth Ministry and Volunteer Registration immediately following the worship service. This is an opportunity to learn more about involvement in the Second Missionary Baptist Church. There are also adult volunteer opportunities available to help young people. The new youth ministry logo will be unveiled at the event, which will also include food, treats and more.

Kokomo Zion United Methodist Church

Kokomo Zion United Methodist Church music director Matt Gerhard will present a program featuring music from the British Isles at 3 p.m. July 31. Folk songs, classical music and hymns will be performed at the event, which will be held at the Church, 5051 E 400 North, Kokomo.

Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church

Due to the pandemic, our lives have changed. The pastor of Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, LE Anderson, saw that changes needed to be made and that involved repositioning ourselves to get out of the walls of the church and into the community. We must reposition ourselves, refocus, reconnect and respond, it’s decided.

The church is currently “launching our with expectations in 2022” with the goal of beginning to rebuild families and community by assisting not only with their spiritual growth, but also with their physical and mental needs. New Beginnings Christian Community
