Waiting is a crucial step | Notes of life | faith and values

Here in the United States, we live in a very fast-paced environment. I am no exception to this. I use my microwave every day, as well as my air fryer and my Insta-pot.

These devices make my life easier when I’m running late or when time is of the essence and trying to prepare a somewhat nutritious meal for my family. Apparently my son shouldn’t eat chicken nuggets every day. No matter.

Once in a while, especially during the cooler seasons, I like to pull out the old crock pot and make a stew or some chili beans. I tell you; Slow cooker meals are amazing. No disrespect to the Insta-pot, but there’s something about meat and spices simmering for hours that gives you something you can’t get fast and fast. I find that good things take time. I don’t mind waiting several hours for a slow cooker meal because I know it will be worth the wait.
